Turkey Bites

These little turkey treats are almost too cute to eat. They are loaded with candy and sprinkles for a sweet Thanksgiving treat everyone will love.

These little candy corn feathered friends are all over the internet, so I just had to make them and share their cuteness with you! I made the body out of cocoa crispy treats, but you can also use cake balls, caramel candies, donut holes or anything round!

You will need
  • 1 batch cocoa crispy treats
  • semi sweet chocolate chips or cocoa candy melts
  • Whoppers- chocolate malt balls (chocolate or peanut butter flavored)
  • black edible marker (or food coloring and a fine tip paintbrush/toothpick)
  • Rainbow Candy Coated Chips
  • red heart sprinkles
  • candy corn
  • pretzel sticks

Directions

Roll cocoa crispy treats (or treat of your choice) into about 1 inch balls for the body of your turkey.

Melt chocolate according to package. Roll crispy treat ball in melted chocolate until completely coated. Remove using 2 forks, letting the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Lay on wax paper to dry.

Attach a Whopper with melted chocolate for the head. Draw on two dots for eyes with the edible marker. Using an orange candy coated chip and red heart sprinkle, attach the beak and waddle with melted chocolate. Here is my army of turkeys, just before getting their feathers. I can't help but chuckle every time I see this picture, they just look so funny :)

Using melted chocolate, attach 5 candy corn on the back of your turkey for the tail feathers. Break pretzel sticks into small 1/2" pieces and attach them with melted chocolate for the legs.

Wrap them up in clear plastic baggies with ribbon, serve them on a thanksgiving dinner plate with a name tag, or even add them to a little gift box. Check out how to make our Acorn Bites and Pilgrim Hats for more Thanksgiving fun!
