Hamantaschen

Hamentaschen are triangular-shaped pastries that are traditionally eaten during the Jewish holiday of Purim. These Hamentaschen start a wonderful buttery dough and can be filled with anything from jelly to chocolate chips!


Hamantaschen

Ingredients
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 egg yolks
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons orange juice
  • filling of choice (jam, preserves, chocolate chips, nuts, etc)

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Knead ingredients together. Let sit in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Roll out and cut into circles. Fill with topping of choice and fold corners over into triangles. Bake 30 minutes or until slightly brown
