The pumpkin and spices add a subtle fall flavor and the addition of honey gives just a hint of sweetness to this soft, moist cornbread. It is perfectly comforting and pairs so well with a bowl of chili, or any cozy fall meal- trust me this stuff is really addictive!











This fun twist on the classic is great on it's own or served with a drizzle of honey on top and some whipped cream or Cinnamon Honey Butter for a sweet touch!



 It's perfect for serving at Thanksgiving or to go along side any fall meal. Either way everyone will love it. 


Easy Pumpkin Spice Cornbread

Total Time: 35 min
Servings: 9-16 squares

Ingredients
  • 1 (15 oz) package Cornbread mix, prepared according to package directions (I used Krusteaz Honey Cornbread & Muffin Mix plus ingredients called for on the back of the box: 2/3 cup milk, 1/3 cup vegetable oil and 1 large egg)
  • 1 cup canned 100% pure pumpkin puree
  • 3 tablespoons honey 
  • 1 heaping teaspoon pumpkin pie spice


Directions
Heat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a 8 or 9-inch square baking pan or pie plate with non-stick cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, stir together cornbread mix with ingredients called for on the back of the box, pumpkin, honey and pumpkin pie spice, until moistened. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 25-35 minutes, or until light golden brown. 

Cool, slice and serve. Add a drizzle of honey and homemade honey butter or a dollop of whipped cream, with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice, if desired. Store at room temperature in an airtight container.
