Make an EASY & FREE Coronavirus Bandana Face Mask With Filter to wear when you have to leave the house, per the new CDC guidelines.
This CDC Face Covering Tutorial is a super simple DIY, that requires No-Sewing, No-Cutting, and you can make it in just a few minutes.
I hope you and your families are all healthy and doing ok. We're all in this together, so I wanted to share this little tutorial, in case it can help anyone out there stay safe during this crazy time.
This tutorial is from the CDC website to Help Slow the Spread of COVID-19. They recommend everyone over the age of 2, who doesn't have trouble breathing and can remove the mask without assistance, to be using simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Cloth Face Covering to Help Slow the Spread of COVID-19:
To put on the mask, loop the hair ties over your ears. Adjust the mask to make sure it covers your nose and mouth completely. It should fit snugly against your face, so there are no gaps between your face and the mask.
Remove it by the ear straps, making sure not to touch the front of the mask that may be contaminated and be careful not to touch your face when removing the mask. Then, put it in the washing machine to clean it and immediately wash your hands. Replace the coffee filter after each use.
These cloth face coverings are the ones that are recommended, so we can save the surgical masks or N-95 respirators for healthcare workers and medical first responders.

Cloth Face Covering to Help Slow the Spread of COVID-19
You will need:
Bandana (or square cotton cloth approximately 20”x20”)
2 Hair ties (or rubber bands)
Coffee filter, if you have
Directions (from the CDC):
Fold the bandana in half. The CDC suggests using a tightly woven, yet breathable material, like a cotton T-shirt or a cotton bandana.
Then, if you have a coffee filter, cut it so you’re left with the curved top, and place in the center of the folded bandana. If you don't have a filter, that's ok. You can still wear the face covering without the filter.
Fold the top third of the bandana down, then fold the bottom third of the bandana up, over the filter. I flip it over, so the cute pattern in on the outside. Slide the hair ties onto either side of the folded fabric so they are about 6 inches apart.
Fold each end in towards the center. You can tuck one end into the other so it holds together better.
