This DIY is Cheap, Easy, and Removable, so it's semi-permanent, perfect for dorm rooms, apartments, rentals, a cheap alternative, or someone who just wants to try out a look before committing.
You can really use this hack on pretty much any table or piece of furniture you have, to totally transform it into a gorgeous custom piece, for way cheaper than buying real marble furniture. I'm showing you how to use contact paper to refresh old wood cabinets into a clean bright white, and create a faux marble sink countertop and framed mirror!
Bathroom Vanity Makeover
You will need:
- white contact paper for the cabinets: https://amzn.to/3c2aYRx
- knobs for the cabinet (I used crystal): https://amzn.to/2R9Oren
- marble contact paper for the counter (or contact paper color of your choice, wide enough to cover the top and the sides of the counter): https://amzn.to/2C7GbTU
- wallpaper smoothing kit (or just use a credit card and scissors or exacto knife): https://amzn.to/3uMcm1j
- crown molding cut to size with a miter saw for the mirror: I got mine at my local hardware store
- velcro heavy duty command strips for the mirror frame: https://amzn.to/2SEQAz0
- wood glue for the mirror frame: https://amzn.to/2RQwSAt
Directions:
Cover the cabinets with white contact paper and replace hardware.
Apply marble contact paper to the top of the counter, using a credit card or wallpaper smoother to get out any air bubbles.
Glue together crown molding that has been cut to size with a miter saw and attach to the mirror using heavy duty velcro command strips.
