Mounds Candy Bar Penguin Pops

This just might be my favorite holiday no-bake holiday pop so far. For Hanukkah I showed you how to make marshmallow dreidel pops and for Christmas I introduced my Snickers reindeer pops... and now for a versatile pop you can customize for any winter holiday, baby shower or birthday party!

Mounds Candy Bar Penguin Pops

You will need
  • lollipop sticks
  • Fun Sized Mounds candy bars
  • mini marshmallows
  • brown "M&M's"
  • yellow fruit chew candy (I used Starburst)
  • chocolate chips, melted
  • sequin confetti sprinkles (white for the eyes, and colored for the bow ties)
  • heart confetti sprinkles (for the bow ties)
  • gum drops (hats)

Directions

Soften Starburst at 10 seconds intervals in the microwave until pliable. Flatten Starburst and cut out a heart shape with a small heart cutter or with scissors. With the remaining Starburst, roll a small cone shape in between your fingers, for the beak.

Push lollipop stick up the end of the candy bar (be sure not to pierce it through the top).

With melted chocolate, attach the heart to the bottom of the candy bar, with the point facing back, so the two rounded edges become the feet. Flatten the mini marshmallow between your fingers to form a flattened circle, and attach it to the belly. Attach 1 brown M&M to each side for the wings. Attach the Starburst beak and confetti sprinkles for eyes to the top of the candy bar, forming the face. With a toothpick, dot on some melted chocolate to the bottom of each eye, creating a pupil/iris

You think these are cute? Just wait, there's more... Gumdrop Holiday Hats!

HOLIDAY PENGUIN POPS!

Holiday Hat Directions

To make the yamakas, simply cut off the top of a white gum drop and add a Jewish Star sprinkle. Attach with melted chocolate.

For the Santa hats, cut a slice off the bottom of the white gum drop and use it for the bottom of the hat. Roll the red gumdrop between your fingers until you have sort of a cone shape, and place it on top of the white brim. Top the hat with the little piece of white gum drop, rolled into a small ball. Attach with melted chocolate.

Bow Tie Directions

Place two heart confetti sprinkles next to each other, with their points touching. Place a sequin confetti sprinkles on top where the two points meet. Attach with melted chocolate.

You can individually wrap your pops in clear plastic bags for a party favor, or you can create a display for your pops. To create a display that your pops can stand upright in, take a block of Styrofoam and wrap it in festive wrapping paper or tissue paper. Push the bottom of each stick into the styrofoam for guests to easily grab and enjoy.
