Tootsie Roll/Caramel Thanksgiving Cupcake Toppers

After posting my Spice Cupcakes With Maple Cream Cheese Frosting earlier today, I thought I would share some super simple Thanksgiving decor to top them! These cupcake toppers were made from only 2 ingredients; caramels and tootsie rolls! I made them out of some extra candy I had from my Pumpkin Pop and Pilgrim Pop tutorials. They are so incredibly easy, and take any Thanksgiving dessert to the next level in cuteness. You can use them to top cupcakes, like I did, or even use them to top your pumpkin pie, or Thanksgiving desserts, for a sweet festive touch.

Chocolate Caramel Turkeys

Directions
  1. Make 2 balls out of tootsie roll, using 1/2 of a tootsie roll to create a small ball, and 1 1/2 tootsie rolls to create a larger ball.
  2. Create a tiny beak out of caramel by rolling a small piece in between your thumb and index finger. Make the feathers by rolling a ball out of caramel and flattening it. Cut out a flower shape with a small cookie cutter, scissors, or your fingers.
  3. Place the small tootsie roll ball on top of the larger ball, using the caramel to stick them together. Stick the beak on to the head. Using a toothpick or cake tester, poke 2 eyes.
  4. Stick the feathers to the back of your turkey.
