Deep Dish Brownie Banana Split For Two
*For a larger batch, double recipe and bake in a 8x8 inch pan or larger casserole dish for about 35 minutes.

Ingredients
  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated white sugar
  • 5 tablespoons (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup (30g) all-purpose flour, weighed or spooned and leveled
  • 1 large banana
  • 2 large scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • toppings of choice: chocolate & strawberry sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, cherries

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Stir together melted butter, sugar, cocoa, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Mix in the vanilla and egg until batter becomes thick, smooth and shiny. Stir in flour until just incorporated. Spread batter into a small casserole dish or a 8x4-inch loaf pan.

Bake for about 35-45 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs sticking to it. Do not over bake. Cool brownies completely in the dish on a cooling rack.

Place banana slices over the top of the brownie. Add ice cream and toppings. Serve warm.
