6 TRICKS FOR FILLING YOUR CUPCAKES
Note: When making a hole for your filling, be sure not to go all the way down to the bottom of the cupcake, so the filling doesn't soak into the bottom of the cupcake liner.

1. My favorite trick for filling cupcakes is to use an apple corer. I got this one at the dollar store and works great for standard or mini size cupcakes!

2. A great trick for filling mini cupcakes, using something you probably already have at home, is plunging the end of a wooden spoon in the center of the cupcake to create a tiny little hole, perfect for filling.

3. A more traditional approach, that works for any size cupcake, is using a knife to cut a cone shape out of the center.

4. If you have a melon baller, this is another tool I got from the dollar store, they also work great for easily creating a hole in your cupcake, for filling.

Which ever method above you choose, you can either spoon your filling in, or put your filling in a plastic sandwich bag, snip off a corner, and squeeze it in to the hole.

5. This method is using a "bismark tip" made by Wilton brand, specifically for filling cupcakes... you can also do this using a basic round tip, but plunging the tip into the center of the cupcake, squeezing in the filling and then pulling up and out.

6. A very similar technique, is using a squeeze bottle with a long nozzle to push into the top of the cupcake and squeeze in the filling.

As you can see, each technique gives a different size hole, depending on how  much filling you want in your cupcake. The first two methods work great for fillings like jelly, pudding or marshmallow fluff, while the third and fourth method, which create a larger hole, are great for thicker fillings like ice cream , candy bar chunks or pie filling! The last two methods work great for smooth fillings like, whipped cream, peanut butter, or caramel filling.

Frost with a fun flavor combination and enjoy the fun surprise center!
